Broadhurst wants to defend crown in Wales

Champion Paul Broadhurst wants to defend his Senior Open title in Wales at Royal Porthcawl this summer.

Broadhurst will make a return to Wales when he defends the Senior Open Championship at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club from July 27-30.

The 51-year-old Englishman, who captured his first Senior Major by winning on his championship debut at Carnoustie last year, is now seeking to retain his title.

It will be a tough ask at a Senior Open Championship, featuring a field that will include Bernhard Langer, Tom Watson, John Daly, Ian Woosnam, Colin Montgomerie and Miguel Angel Jimenez.

"Life has changed dramatically for me thanks to that breakthrough in the Senior Open. It's been a few years since I played in Wales and I am looking forward immensely to defending my title at Royal Porthcawl," Broadhurst explained.
