They say you can learn a lot from someone by looking at their record collection. We put that theory to the test on club blokey Chris Lake, with sexy results!

TOTP: Whose was the last music collection that you rifled through?
Chris: It was a friend of mine's, and I can't tell you his name, mainly because some of the dross that was on offer [Laughs].
TOTP: Dross? What dross?
Chris: God, I can't remember, but there was some very questionable '80s stuff in there. Stuff he should be strung up for, but I can't really talk. We were all young once, we've all made mistakes like that. Me included.

TOTP: Thanks for reminding us. What's the most embarrassing album you own?
Chris: I never did albums when I was growing up. It was all about the singles really. I would buy any old crap. But you could get a much clearer idea by looking at my walls, they were covered with posters and, you know those lyrics you'd get from Smash Hits? Lots of that stuff. Erm... 'Hey Mona' by the guy off Neighbours. I distinctly remember playing that a lot. That's quite embarrassing, eh?
That guy out of Neighbours TOTP: I think we've nailed 'embarrassment' right there. Was it the song that drew you in or the loveable rogue spirit of Henry Ramsey?
Chris: It was definitely the song. Definitely the song.

TOTP: Proud of you, Chris. Is there anything you've hidden away when you've had visitors round?
Chris: Well, I'd probably think twice about leaving the Michael Jackson albums in the collection these days. I'd keep the early ones.
TOTP: Well, even 'Dangerous' is acceptable in most circles...
Chris: I guess so. I don't know though, when I was younger I liked all of his albums. Please don't judge me!
Michael Jackson - not that bad.

TOTP: Just relax, Chris. Have you ever received a CD as a gift and then given it to someone else?
Chris: I have done that.
TOTP: Shame on you!
Chris: Ah, well, I've not wrapped up it as a gift though. I've just said to someone "Yeah you can have that. My mum bought it for me" or something. That's bad isn't it?
TOTP: What kinds of albums?
Chris: Oh, you know. The Hits of the '90s or something like that. I don't know what it is about me but I have been given some rubbish in my time.

TOTP: You're sending out the wrong signals. Have you ever stolen albums from your elders?
Chris: Erm.. I've borrowed indefinitely. That's not the same as stealing though. It's different, OK? But yeah, I have. My parents have got great taste in music though so it's not that embarrassing. In fact my parents are very good at previewing my music. They're very supportive, but I do tend to wonder if I'm doing something right when my mum listens to a particularly mucky song and says, "Oooh I like this one.".
The Prodigy. Be outraged, dammit!

TOTP: What did you play just to annoy your parents?
Chris: The Prodigy. Always. 'Firestarter', 'Breathe', all of those songs. It didn't really work though, my parents just thought it was cool. Bloody annoying really. I couldn't annoy them if I tried.
