Last week, we called upon our Facebook community to answer Belalang Tempur’s question concerning his upcoming trip to Morocco. He said, "I would love to enjoy the Marrakesh Djemaa El-Fna this coming October. Any suggestions on where to stay? Any specific activity that I must try there?"

Here is some of the advice we received from our Facebook fans:

From Elize Meijer: “Stay in a riad in the medina, and not in modern Marrakesh.

From Sallie Ann Harrison: “Stay at the [Palais de Fes Dar] Tazi in the medina and have breakfast on the roof!”

From Terry Ward: “For a splurge, Riad Farnatchi. Definitely stay in the medina over the Palmeraie[KH1]  to be in the heart of the action.”

From Rekha George: “Definitely stay in a riad to soak in the atmosphere. Do not miss dinner at any one of the stalls at the Djemaa el-Fna; great street food! Listen to the folk musicians, stroll through the souks, pick up a tagine or any souvenir that you may fancy but be aware that it’s also a tourist trap. Bargain unashamedly and have lots of mint tea.”

From Kath Oliger: “Without a doubt, Peacock Pavilions.”

From Mariana Galante: “Eat chebakia from the evening food stalls at Djemaa el-Fna square.”

From Lliam Warren: “I got back from Marrakech three weeks ago. I had a great time at the Riu Tikida Palmeraie, a first class hotel.”

From Giacomo Tini: “I stayed at Riar l'Harmattan. Very nice but not expensive and close to the Djemaa el-Fna! Visit the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace.”

From Said Oulkadi: “A riad in the medina, like Borj dar Lamane.”
