    As if Portland, Oregon really needed more attractions to lure travellers than its 51 breweries, 180 miles of bike lanes, countless boutique coffee shops, cutting-edge eateries, a booming indie music scene… the list goes on and on. And now -- just over the busy Hawthorne Bridge (where about 20% of the daily traffic is on two wheels) -- the revived Central Eastside Industrial District is brimming with potential and incredibly easy to access.

    This September, the 3.3-mile Portland Streetcar Central Loop line extended across the Willamette River, connecting eastside neighbourhoods like the Industrial District with Portland’s popular downtown and Pearl District neighbourhoods on the west side. With 28 new stops, it is now easier than ever to discover this edgier part of Portland that is full of understated charm. (Cristina Goyanes)
