The five-star Palais Namaskar
Marrakech opens 6 April, a confection of Andalusian architecture
set in 12 acres of Balinese-style water gardens with 41 rooms, suites, villas
and even two mini-palaces. The resort is situated about 20 minutes outside Marrakesh’s
ancient medina, with views of the Atlas Mountains and the Djebilet Hills. The
hotel, part of the Oetker
Collection, has a private jet on hand to transfer guests to
Casablanca’s airport or to other properties within the collection, such as
Hotel Le Bristol in Paris and Brenners Park-Hotel in Baden Baden, Germany.
The first hotel to open in San Francisco in three
years, the Inn at the Presidio, opening 1 April, is located
in one of the city’s most beautiful spots. The Presidio was an army base for two centuries — it
was decommissioned in 1994 — and is now part of the National Park Service. The Inn
is located in the historic Pershing Hall
building and has 22 rooms, most of which have sitting rooms and fireplaces.
Third floor rooms have views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay.
On the United States’ eastern coast, Revel opens 2 April in Atlantic City, a luxury $2.4
billion mega-resort and casino that will unveil 1,900 rooms by the summer. All the
stops have been pulled out to make this more than just a gambling destination: there
are Roman baths, a roof garden with 20,000 plants, 10 restaurants and a
London hotel openings are heating up as the Olympics
draw closer. The Grosvenor
House Apartments by Jumeirah Living will open on 2 April. The 133 Mayfair
apartments have a 24-hour concierge who will stock the refrigerator in your
Poggenpohl-designed kitchen, and can be booked for either short- or long-term
