Lord's Cricket Ground

Lord's Cricket Ground

Lord's Cricket Ground is known as "the home of cricket" and hosts international cricket matches.

Cricket is a popular sport in England, which involves hitting a ball with a bat and running between two sets of wooden sticks to score points. During the Olympics, Lord's put aside its usual activities to become the venue for the Archery Competition.

In this week’s programme, we look at the history of this cricket venue. Why were sheep used at Lord's in the past? What's the story behind the famous Ashes Urn exhibited here?
