A cold day with outbreaks of rain and sleet, with snow on hills where a slight covering is possible. Perhaps just the odd brighter interval, mainly in the west.
Cold with further wintry showers, mainly affecting Kent where some snow may settle on the North Downs especially. Mainly dry with patchy frost elsewhere.

Icy stretches are likely to form on untreated surfaces on Friday evening, overnight and into Saturday morning. In addition, further accumulations of snow continue to be seen in places as bands of showers move southwards across the UK with temporary accumulations of 0-2 cm even in southern England this morning and the public should be aware of the risk of disruption due to difficult driving conditions.
This is an update to the earlier warning to include temporary accumulations of snow further south across England and Wales this morning.
