Cold air will spread in across the north of the UK by Sunday evening allowing many road temperatures to fall below zero overnight. As wintry showers move in from the northwest, icy stretches are liable to form on any untreated roads.

These showers will fall as snow in places with the potential for overnight localised accumulations of 1-2cm at lower levels and 2-5cm over some of the highest routes. The public should be aware of the potential for hazardous driving conditions, though the risk will decrease quickly on Tuesday morning as temperatures rise again.
