    Rain across the west, gradually turning heavier and more persistent, the heaviest rain in Skye Lochaber and Wester Ross. Mainly dry, brighter spells towards Strathspey, Inverness, up to Wick and Strathy. Strengthening southwesterly winds, gales developing, severe in northwest.

  • Tonight

    Heavy rain persisting across much of Highland and the Isles, heaviest in Northwest Highlands. Rain lighter in east with some good dry spells around Caithness and Nairn. Severe gales easing.
