    Some clear spells towards Kincardineshire and Deeside, otherwise most places cloudy with scattered showers, these turning wintry to lower levels with slight accumulations in places. Moderate or fresh northwesterly winds.

    Frequent wintry showers and falling temperatures are likely to lead to some icy surfaces later on Tuesday and early on Wednesday morning.

    As an additional hazard, sleet and snow showers are expected to fall to increasingly low levels, more frequently so across the Northern Isles, Hebrides and Northwest Highlands. Up to 2 cm may accumulate, mainly above 100 m, away from northern coasts, with 2-5 cm over higher ground.Expect difficult driving conditions on untreated roads as well as slippery conditions on pavements and cycle paths.
