    Cloud will continue to thicken overnight bringing wet, windy but milder weather for all. Rain will become heavy and persistent overnight, especially over western upslopes of Cumbria.

    Icy stretches will form on many untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths this evening, overnight and into Friday morning. In addition wintry showers could give 1-3 cm of snow in places, mainly on higher ground above 150 m, but perhaps to lower levels in the far north of Scotland.
