Nina joined the BBC Weather Centre in 2000. During her first few years here she combined presenting the weather on the BBC whilst completing her forecaster training with the Met Office.
Growing up in Tunbridge Wells, Nina attended the Weald of Kent Grammar School. She then went on to study 'Mathematics with Management Studies' at Leeds University.
Nina also gained a PGCE from Bristol University and is a qualified mathematics teacher. She has never lost her passion for maths and still spends time volunteering in local primary schools.
Whilst at University, Nina joined the Officer Training Corps and experienced a lot of weather conditions first hand, spending weekends 'on exercise'.
Come rain, shine or even snow she enjoyed the challenges of walking miles with a heavy rucksack, building bridges or learning to drive big army trucks.
The closest she now gets to any military equipment is being married to John a serving officer in the Royal Engineers.
Keeping fit is still an important part of her life and she runs or cycles nearly every day.
Nina juggles the demands of being a working mum and looking after her 4 young children.
