Cecilia joined the Met Office in 1985 and has been a weather forecaster for the last 12 years. After 3 years at Aldergrove she moved to Nottingham where she started her forecasting and broadcasting career.
She stayed at Nottingham for 3 years broadcasting regularly for local BBC radio stations, Radio Nottingham, Radio Lincoln, Leicester, Derby and Northampton. She then moved to London Weather Centre with more local radio work on both BBC and independent stations. She spent 5 years in London and started work at Broadcasting House when BBC Radio 5 Live was launched. Her first shift was on April 1st and she stayed there for nearly 3 years working on Breakfast, The Magazine and Midday with Mair.
The early mornings got too much for her after a while - starting each day at 4.45am! She returned to Belfast in early 1997 to begin working for BBC Northern Ireland and has recently helped to launch the new regional graphics package rolled out during October 2000.
