Kaye was born in Dartford, Kent and attended Bexleyheath School, where her passion for the weather began thanks to her enthusiastic geography teacher, Mr Jackson. She studied Geography, Maths and English at A-level which gave her good grounding for a mixture of science and the arts.

Kaye then went to Brunel University to study BSc Geography and carried out her final year dissertation studying the effect of global warming on Atlantic hurricanes, further fuelling her interest in the weather.

Kaye joined the Met Office in 2001, and worked as a weather observer at RAF Brize Norton and RAF Benson in Oxfordshire. This involved a lot of 'sky gazing' and compiling weather reports for air traffic control, and also introduced her to shift work including night shifts!!

Kaye then moved over to the BBC Weather Centre in January 2004. Her current role involves regional radio broadcasts and TV and radio broadcast cover for regional presenters. She has presented the weather for the BBC Yorkshire breakfast programme in Leeds. "Presenting is great fun and allows you to travel to new places and meet new people".

Kaye has a huge passion for football and is a devoted Manchester United supporter. She started playing football at university and now plays for Wycombe Wanderers Ladies. Kaye also enjoys travelling, seeing new places and loves to ski and surf. She loves the outdoors and also dabbles in rock climbing.
