Hello and welcome to BBC Xtra English! Robert Lambert, the director of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has just said that British university students need to pay more for the loans that they receive and higher tuition fees. University education shoud be free, because a student will be thinking about sources of money not about his studying, i believe that a level of university will be down if the education become not free This type of investments on education, this high loans give to student that need high annual salary after Employment for payment loans; I think all of this it maybe one of the major reason of global financial crisis that make who beneficiary of the loan life with stress of payment debts so education should be free I don't think that the university education should be free. That will cause disregard of the curriculum, also it is unfair to support and care about just 50% of youth in your country. On the other hand a hard-working poor students Should not be denied from joining the university .By that I think it will improves the quality of education. In my country all the government universirties are free, it was the most important thing that made all the university students to complete thier education under the condition of the economic block at that time, in addition to the international accepted degree of these universities as compare with the private studies, therefore I believe that the free university education is preferred *Required Fields
He believes that UK government spending on the university sector is now unsustainable, and for UK universities to preserve their high standards, they must be given money from other sources.
The main source will be the students who Robert feels should pay more for their loans, particularly as he sees that the UK university loans system is already quite generous by international standards.
The CBI has also published a report about this, which wants to encourage businesses in the UK to spend more on universities by providing sponsorships and bursaries.
But these suggestions might cause a problem for some students who will be put off by going to university if it means they will have to take out larger loans and graduate with bigger debts.
One young student told the BBC that he thinks the government should pay as much as possible for people's university education.
He said that when university graduates will end up getting better wages and pay more taxes than people who did not go to university.
This means that they are more valuable to the country's economy and so they should be helped more during university!
