Hello and welcome to BBC Xtra English! Today Anna and Rasha talk about yoga and ayurvedic therapy. A world-famous health guru called Baba Ramdev is moving to the UK. Some of his followers have bought him an island off the Scottish coast for two million pounds for him to live and practise his teachings. Baba Ramdev is a vegetarian and believes that people can live healthier lives if they become vegetarians like himself and use ancient Indian natural therapy called ayurvedic therapy. He is also a yoga specialist and teaches a special kind of yoga called pranayama. Yoga is a mix of physical and mental exercises that has become very popular all over the world. Baba Ramdev is convinced that yoga is an excellent way to keep healthy and has even told people that it can cure diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and even cancer! Although this may sound unbelievable, there are many around the world who believe Baba Ramdev and he has devotees from all around the world. Baba Ramdev plans to use the island to hold yoga training camps where people can come and practice yoga under his guidance. Whilst Baba Ramdev aims to help people become as healthy as possible, it is interesting that he will begin doing this in Scotland, which is very far away from his country and also a place that has a high number of unhealthy people.
