Hello and welcome to BBC Xtra English! The sight of 27 naked men standing on high-rise buildings may be a bit of a surprise to New Yorkers!
But in fact the ‘naked men’ are really life-size statues – and it’s all part of British sculptor, Anthony Gormley’s new art installation which is opening in New York this week.
The installation - called Event Horizon, is comprised of 27 sculptures around New York’s high rise buildings, including one on top of the Empire State building, and 4 more on the ground.
The sculptures seem to be causing a bit of a stir in the city.
One woman said; it looks like somebody about to jump off a building. It’s kind of troubling.
Another woman thought that people might not even notice the sculptures: New Yorkers for the most part don’t walk around looking up. I have lived here all my life and I am usually looking down to make sure I don’t trip.
