All living creatures are born, grow, reproduce and change over time. Humans learn many things as they grow up; how to talk, walk, swim and make important choices in their life. Includes animal footage which could be compared with humans. Note: There is no narration in this clip.

The clip could be used to introduce the idea that characteristics are passed from parents to their offspring, by identifying how animals resemble their parents in many features. The clip could help the pupils to explore the similarities and differences between the life cycles of humans and animals and could help to focus on observable characteristics and behaviours. The latter part of the clip could be used to initiate work about the stages of human development from birth to old age.
