A balanced diet is described as the necessary amounts of the seven food groups that make a person healthy. The food groups and their relative amounts are given. Food packaging is looked at.

Use the clip to inform students’ research into diet and its relationship with growth and development. Students could consider energy requirements, and the specific roles of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Students could annotate an image of a person with what components of their diet go to help which aspects of their body.
