Useful as an introduction to streamlining and a discussion on the characteristics of streamlined animals and vehicles. Under supervision children could try running whilst holding a cardboard box in its proper shape around their middle (windy days are best), they could then make the box more streamlined and run again, commenting on the effect. A competitive element could be introduced and the children could create a streamlined boat which a hairdryer will blow through the water in a paddling pool.
