All animals and plants are made from cells. The components of a cell and their functions are described: membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus. In addition to these, plant cells also have a cell wall, vacuole and often chloroplasts. The function of each of these components is also described.
This clip could be used by students to compare plant and animal cells. Students could be presented with a series of cell samples (or images of cells) which they have to identify as being of plant or animal origin.
