A Jewish family welcomes their grandparents to celebrate Shabbat together. Just before dark, the mother lights the Shabbat candles and recites a prayer. The family drinks wine or grape juice from silver goblets and receives a blessing from the grandfather. They explain that Shabbat is a time to talk and celebrate with family.

This clip could be used to compare what Jews and Christians do on their holy day. Christians pray and say Amen just as Jews do. They also sing hymns and light candles. The differences of not being allowed to do work on Shabbat and the father or grandfather blessing them could be identified and discussed.
