Three children show and discuss their wobbly teeth. They visit an aquarium and find out about sharks’ teeth and talk about the differences between shark and human teeth.
This clip could be viewed when reinforcing the message about personal health and how this relates to diet and the importance of dental care. The pupils could be shown what happens to a hard boiled egg (or eggshells) left overnight in vinegar then tasked with discovering the effects of other liquids such as cola, salt or pure water. It may also be an introduction to investigations about their adult teeth and how their designs make them useful for different purposes. A dental chart and mirrors could be provided for them to focus on their own mouths and then plasticine models could be created. This could be used as a focus before embarking upon investigations into the dentition of other animals.
