Establishing a totalitarian state

Totalitarianism is a form of government that controls every aspect of individuals' lives. Under Hitler, the Nazis tried to take total control of Germany through a range of measures:

  • crushing of opposition
  • fear and state terrorism
  • social controls
  • propaganda
  • successful foreign policy
  • economic policies
  • social policies
