The dosa is a crispy, savoury pancake and a staple of south Indian cooking. But where can you get the best ones in New York City?
This is the question Amrit Singh, a music critic and son of Punjabi immigrants, set out to answer. He is joined on his quest by a gang of musician friends including jazz pianist Vijay Iyer and members of the bands Vampire Weekend and Das Racist.
The film isn’t just a freewheeling escapade. Singh sees Dosa Hunt as highlighting the views and lifestyle of a new generation of young South Asians in the US and providing creative role models for young people.
Tom Brook reports from New York.
