If you're looking for easy party food - crostini is your best bet. Dress it up with caviar or wild mushrooms or go super simple with chopped tomato and mint or basil. We've said it before, but everything tastes better on toast.
Recipes using crostini
Crostini bases can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Once topped, serve immediately.
Stale (reduced price) baguettes are perfect for crostini. Slice them on a slight angle into 1.5cm/ 1/2 in slices. Brush the breads with olive oil and bake in a 200C/180C (Fan)/Gas 6 oven for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp. Allow to cool on a rack completely before topping.
