The government of the Philippines has seized fifteen paintings by artists including Michelangelo, Gauguin and Picasso from the former home of the ousted dictator, Ferdinand Marcos.

He died in 1989 but his widow, Imelda, was in one of the homes raided by government agents.

They're trying to recover 158 art works which they say were bought with funds looted from the state.

An agent said they had a writ to seize the paintings before they disappeared or were hidden away.

The government is trying to recoup the Marcos wealth which some estimates put in the billions of dollars.
