Cambodian police arrest three after journalist killed

The police in Cambodia say they've arrested three people after a journalist investigating illegal logging was shot dead.

Taing Try was killed on Sunday in the east of the country where he'd been told loggers were illegally chopping down trees.

The three people detained include a former soldier, a police officer and a military policeman; all are thought to have traded logs.

Much of the illegal logging in Cambodia is thought to take place under the protection of officials.

The French economist Jean Tirole has won the Nobel Prize for Economics for his analysis of market power and regulation.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said Professor Tirole, of Toulouse University, had clarified how to understand and regulate industries with a few powerful firms.

He'll receive a prize of just over US$1 juta.

Ekonom Prancis Jean Tirole meraih Hadiah Nobel Ekonomi atas analisisnya tentang kekuatan pasar dan regulasi.
