Bawdy comedy The Hangover leads MTV film nods
Stag comedy The Hangover has scooped six nominations for the MTV Movie Awards, eclipsing blockbusters Avatar and Twilight with five nods each.
The three films are joined by Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in the best movie contest.
Sandra Bullock could add to her best actress Oscar, while heart-throbs Robert Pattinson, Daniel Radcliffe and Zac Efron are nominated for best actor.
The awards will be handed out in a ceremony in Los Angeles on 6 June.
MTV viewers, who determined the nominees, will also choose the winners in an online vote.
In a new category of global superstar, Kristen Stewart is the only female talent alongside Johnny Depp, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and Daniel Radcliffe.
Stewart is also nominated for best actress for Twilight: New Moon alongside Bullock, Amanda Seyfried, Harry Potter star Emma Watson and Avatar's Zoe Saldana.
Bullock has another nod for best comedic performance in The Proposal.
Golden Girls star Betty White is nominated for a specific scene in the same movie opposite Bullock.
The 88-year-old is shortlisted for a dress-fitting scene in which she gets up close and personal with the Oscar-winning actress.
Twilight star Stewart is shortlisted twice in the best kiss category, for her clinch with co-star Robert Pattinson and a lesbian kiss with actress Dakota Fanning in The Runaways.
Among the nominees for best breakout star is Gabourey Sidibe for her role in Precious, which also gained her an Oscar nomination.
