Rock singer Bret Michaels will appear in the live final of The Celebrity Apprentice in the US less than a month after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

Michaels, 47, will take on actress Holly Robinson Peete in the NBC show final on Sunday.

The Poison frontman was in intensive care last month after being rushed to hospital with a severe headache.

He was discharged from hospital on 5 May. He will also perform at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, Mississippi, on 28 May.

Michaels is also expected to begin a tour with Lynyrd Skynrd on 10 June in West Palm Beach, Florida.

He has increased his rehabilitation sessions to twice a day in preparation for his comeback.

The singer will also appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday.

Poison's hits include Every Rose Has Its Thorn and Unskinny Bop.
