Four teenagers rescued from North Sea

Four teenagers have been criticised by coastguards for setting off into the North Sea on board a one-man lifeboat.

All four ended up in the water in Banff Bay although one of the teenagers was able to make it to the shore on their own.

The remaining three members of the group had to be rescued by a lifeboat crew from Macduff.

Aberdeen Coastguard described the decision by the teenagers to board the small lifeboat as a "very silly act."
