'Large-scale' fire hits Scottish Borders grassland

Firefighters have been called to a "large-scale" fire on the landmark Eildon Hills in the heart of the Scottish Borders.

Three crews have been sent to the scene of the blaze just outside Melrose which was first reported at about 1400 BST.

Efforts are being made to prevent flames spreading to other parts of the nearby countryside.

Walkers have been stopped from entering the popular pathways in the area until the fire can be brought under control.
