Man on Kidderminster roof arrested over burglary

A man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after falling or jumping off a roof in Worcestershire.

An officer spotted the man on the roof of a commerical building in New Road, Kidderminster, at 0150 BST on Sunday.

A police helicopter was called and the man came down at about 0315 BST, but hurt his ankle in the process.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and a second man was arrested nearby for assaulting a police officer, although he had only minor injuries.

Both men have been bailed pending further inquiries and anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
