Seven arrested over Telford Spar supermarket fire

Seven people have been arrested in connection with a fire at a supermarket in Shropshire.

More than 30 firefighters tackled the fire at the Spar store in Malinslee, Telford, at about 0030 BST on Monday.

No-one was injured. The fire is being treated as arson and four men arrested on Monday remain in custody for questioning.

West Mercia Police said inquiries were ongoing and anyone with information should call police or Crimestoppers.

The force said it had arrested one man on Tuesday morning and two further men on Tuesday afternoon in connection with the fire and violent disorder near the shop on Friday and Saturday.

The shop remains sealed for forensic investigations.
