Second arrest in bombing inquiry

Police investigating the bombing of a courthouse in Northern Ireland have arrested a second suspect.

The 32-year-old man was detained in Antrim by police. The attack on Newry courthouse took place in February.

On Wednesday, Ciaran Farrell, 51, of Killeaton Park, Dunmurry, appeared in the same court charged with the car bombing.

He denies causing an explosion likely to endanger property or life.

Mr Farrell, whose sister Mairead Farrell was one of three IRA members shot dead by the SAS in Gibraltar in 1988, was remanded in custody.

No one was injured in the dissident attack but substantial damage was caused to the outside of the court building.
