A school support worker has been jailed for four months for possessing hundreds of images of child abuse, bestiality and sadism.

Melanie Gunn, 36, of Driby, near Alford, Lincolnshire, worked at John Spendluffe Technology College, in Alford, when she was arrested in July.

She admitted six offences of making indecent images of children and possessing 79 images of sexual abuse.

On Thursday the mother-of-one was jailed at Lincoln Crown Court.

The charges are not believed to relate to any child at the school nor to her own child.

Downloaded to laptops

Gunn had also admitted having 296 extreme images showing bestiality and sadism.

The married mother made the indecent images of children between September 2007 and October 2008, the court heard.

Images depicting child sex abuse had been downloaded on to two laptops.

Lincolnshire County Council confirmed Mrs Gunn was employed as an independent support manager at the school at the time of her arrest, but she resigned in August.
