An e-fit image has been released of a thief who made off with money after being followed by the victim and having a tug-of-war over a rucksack.

The victim drove after the offender when the item was taken from a van and confronted him near toilets in Brinton Park, Kidderminster, Worcestershire.

The van driver's wallet, containing several hundred pounds, fell on the floor during the tug-of-war on 20 May.

He was attacked by a second man and the offenders ran off with money.

White trainers

The victim was left with a grazed cheek but did not require medical treatment after the incident, which happened at about 0730 BST.

The rucksack was taken from a white Mercedes van, after the driver went into Tesco Express in Stourport Road, leaving the vehicle insecure.

The man depicted in the e-fit image, who took the rucksack, has been described as aged between 20 and 25, about 6ft, slim and with black, greasy, unkempt, shoulder-length hair.

He was wearing a cream-coloured jogging top, black tracksuit bottoms and dirty, white trainers.

The other offender was also white and aged 20 to 25, about 5ft 10in tall with a stocky build and had a shaved head, police said.

He was wearing blue, stonewashed jeans and a white T-shirt underneath a dark, bomber-style jacket.
