A 14-year-old girl is in a critical condition in hospital after falling from a viaduct in Greater Manchester, police have confirmed.

The emergency services were called to Healey Dell in Shawclough Road, Rochdale, at about 1945 BST on Tuesday.

The viaduct is about 31.5m (103ft) high. Mountain rescue volunteers had to rescue her from a bank below.

She was airlifted to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital by police helicopter.
