Police have released an e-fit of a man suspected of carrying out a sex attack on an 85-year-old woman in Castleford.

The woman was hospitalised after being attacked at an address on the town's Lower Oxford Street on 20 May.

West Yorkshire Police said she had been left "extremely traumatised" by what had happened and was being supported by specially trained officers.

The woman was able to give police a description of her attacker and an electronic image has been released.

A 51-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident, but was later released without charge.

Det Insp Nick Wallen said: "I am appealing to local people to study this image and if they think they know who is responsible then they should contact the police."

Officers will be handing out copies of the e-fit in the Castleford area.

The man is described as in his late 30s to early 40s and about 5ft 7in (1.7m) tall. He was wearing a khaki or cream-coloured anorak and light-coloured trousers and had a black-coloured bicycle.
