Police probing the theft of thousands of pounds in a robbery at an Aberdeen bar want to speak to the driver of a green van.

A male member of staff was assaulted at Murdo's on Cairncry Road at about 0900 BST on Tuesday.

The green van, which had ladders on the roof, was seen in the car park of the bar at about 0830 BST.

Grampian Police's Det Insp Richie Guild said: "We are looking to talk to the driver of this van."

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.

A "significant sum" in coins was among the money taken.

Det Insp Guild added: "We'd also ask banks, pubs, shops and other commercial premises to be on the lookout for anyone attempting to change large amounts of coins for notes."
