Plymouth girls stranded 100ft up Cornwall cliffs

Two 18-year-old girls were airlifted to safety after getting stranded 100ft (30m) up cliffs in Cornwall.

The girls, from Plymouth in Devon, had been attempting to climb the cliffs at Looe on Sunday when they became stuck just 10ft (3m) from the top.

They used their mobile phone to call coastguards who sent a rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose. Both girls were recovered unharmed.

Coastguards warned people not to climb cliffs without the right equipment.
