Shot Reading man 'improving' in hospital

A man who was shot in Reading sustaining injuries to his arm and both legs is improving in hospital, police have said.

Officers were called to Grange Avenue where the 25-year-old local man was shot late on Sunday.

Ch Supt Chris Shead, from Thames Valley Police, did not believe it was a random attack but said the motive was unclear.

He said a large numbers of officers were working on the case and pursuing a number of leads.

Grange Avenue was sealed off while investigations were carried out after the shooting.

Officers appealed for witnesses.
