Drugs recovered thanks to calls to Crimestoppers

Avon and Somerset police say they have have recovered drugs worth an estimated £12,000 thanks to anonymous calls from members of the public.

A spokesman said information passed on by the independent charity Crimestoppers has led to more than 50 crimes being detected this year.

About 25 people have been arrested and charged with offences including drink-driving and supplying drugs.

Officers have also seized stolen vehicles and cash, he said.

People can make anonymous calls to the Crimestoppers line about criminal activity, which the police then follow up.
