Lydd Airport's flights to Jersey axed over poor sales
A tourism company has scrapped its plan to start flights from Lydd Airport, in Kent, to Jersey after poor sales.
C.I. Travel Group had intended to operate a weekly service from July to September, but said it was taking action now before it became too costly.
It now plans to offer "alternative flight options" to those who had already booked.
The airport is currently seeking approval for expansion plans, to extend the runway and build a new terminal.
Spokesperson Jo Oliver said: "While we are very disappointed to learn of the tour operator's decision to cancel the Jersey service, we remain confident that Lydd can continue to expand the range of air travel services offered here."
