Man arrested after Torquay car park fall body is found

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was discovered of a woman who is believed to have fallen from a multi-storey car park in Devon.

The body was found on the lower levels of the Fleet Walk Car Park, Carey Parade, Torquay, at about 2100 BST on Thursday.

She was believed to have fallen from the top of the car park.

A 45-year-old Torquay man was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody, police said.

The identity of the woman has not been confirmed. However, it was thought that the victim and the suspect were known to each other, police said.

Officers said they were treating the death as suspicious but were not looking for anyone else in connection with the inquiry.
