Newcastle man jailed over rape of girl, 7

A Newcastle man who raped a seven-year-old girl has been jailed for six years.

Harry Dunlop, 28, from the Blakelaw area of the city, admitted four offences of rape committed between 1997 and 1999.

At the time of the first offence, he was 15 years old. He was sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court earlier.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police's Rape Investigation Team paid tribute to the victim and her family for helping officers with the investigation.
