Two adults and two children have been rescued from a capsized dinghy off the coast near Newtownards.

A sailing instructor from the sailing club at Newtownards saw the capsized dinghy in the water at about 1130 BST and sent a boat out.

One of the men is unconscious and was given CPR on the way back to shore. Both the children are said to be in shock.

All four people have been taken to the Ulster hospital in Dundonald.

The lifeboat, police and the coastguard were all called out for the rescue.

It is not yet known how long they were in the water, or why the dinghy capsized.
