Police have released a picture of a man who sexually assaulted a teenager at knifepoint in north London.

A 19-year-old woman was attacked at about 0225 BST on 29 April on Abbey Road in St John's Wood.

The man is described as black, aged between 18 and 25, 5ft 6in tall, and was wearing white trainers and dark clothing.

Police said the woman was making her way home from work when a man approached her.

He tried to make conversation with the woman, who told him to leave her alone.

The suspect pushed the victim against a wall, threatening her with a knife. He then assaulted her and demanded she hand him any money she had.

After taking the victim's money the suspect ran away.

Det Con Carl Ryan said: "We would very much like to hear from anyone who recognises, or who believes they recognise, the e-fit of the suspect.

"We are also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident."
