Murder in Manchester 'not connected to gangs'
The family of a teenager who was stabbed to death in Manchester have said his death was not connected to local gangs.
John Muldowney, 18, was found unconscious in a house in Hollyhedge Road, Benchill, at 0300 BST on Monday.
His family urged people not to "jeopardise the investigation by taking the law into their own hands", following tension in the community.
They said his memory and spirit would live on in future generations.
His family added: "John can't be described in words. He was loved differently by all those who knew him.
"One thing that most recognised was his cheeky smile and his love for skittles."
They urged anyone with any information about the murder to contact police.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the murder.
Two men, 26 and 23, arrested on suspicion of murder remain in police custody.
A 24-year-old woman, who was also arrested on suspicion of murder, and a woman, 41, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released on bail.
