Drugs discovered in abandoned car in Greenock

Police have discovered £50,000 worth of drugs after searching an abandoned car in Greenock.

Officers were called to investigate the Proton vehicle left in Ann Street in the town at about 1655 BST on Wednesday.

They recovered drugs, believed to be cocaine, from within the car.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the vehicle or its owners to come forward.

The registration number is N57 CFC.

Officers were also carrying out door-to-door inquiries and checking local CCTV.
