Concern over community's future

Residents in the Carmarthenshire village of Penygroes say they fear for the viability of their community.

A public meeting is taking place on Thursday to discuss the closure of its library, plans for new housing and the relocation of its doctors' surgery.

County councillor Sian Thomas called it an important time for Penygroes.

"The concern is the village will turn into a dormitory... there will be no village left - no centre point, the language and culture could disappear."

Thursday night's meeting takes place in Penygroes Memorial Hall.
